Dr. Truptirekha Sahoo is a dedicated academician and researcher in the field of History, with a strong focus on regional, cultural, and socio-historical studies of Odisha, particularly Mayurbhanj. She holds a Ph.D. in History from Maharaja Sriram Chandra Bhanja Deo University (MSCBU), Baripada, completed in 2023, along with an M.Phil. in Indian Historiography and a postgraduate degree in Modern Indian History.
She has accumulated over ten years of teaching experience at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Her professional journey includes roles as a Contractual Lecturer at Malyagiri Mahavidyalaya, Guest Faculty at Nilakantheswar Degree Mahavidyalaya, and currently as Guest Faculty at MSCB University, where she teaches History to PG students.
Dr. Sahoo has made notable contributions to historical research, with multiple publications in reputed journals and edited volumes. Her work primarily explores themes such as tribal culture, regional history, language identity, and the legacy of rulers of Mayurbhanj. She has also authored a book titled “Culture of Mayurbhanj Through the Ages: A Study of Shifting Paradigms.”
In addition to teaching and research, she actively contributes to academic development through mentoring over 50 students, guiding postgraduate dissertations, and supporting SWAYAM courses. She has organized and co-chaired national seminars, demonstrating strong academic leadership and coordination skills.
Her administrative contributions include conducting examinations, invigilation, and supporting departmental activities. She is also a permanent member of the Odisha History Congress and regularly presents papers at national-level seminars.
