The Central Library of the University was established in the year 2001 and renamed as Maharani Takatkumari Central Library on 05/11/2024, in honour of Maharani Takatkumari. The Library is housed in an elegantly designed building located in a lush-green serene environment adjacent to the main administrative block, inside the campus of MSCB University, Takatpur, Baripada. The library caters the need of students, teachers, researchers associated with the University and intelligentsia and cultured classes of North Orissa. The building of the Central Library is an impressive reading space and is well equipped with reference books, textbooks, journals, periodicals and newspapers etc. MSCB University Central Library together with a Digital Library and all departmental libraries which collectively support the Teaching, Research and Extension programs of the Institute. Since its inception, the library has endured substantial transformations in harmonization with the shifting requirements of the times specifically to provide the needs of current advance technological trends for the student community. The library has 54689 numbers of text and reference books in different subjects besides books of common interest. At present the library is subscribing to 37 journals and 22 magazines. The central library is fully automated with RFID based book issue-return system (Self check in check out kiosk) integrated with SOUL2.0 software. The Central library has a e-recourse center with internet facility to access online journals and LMS. The library has access to the repository of Shodhganga– 5400(thesis), Science Direct: 4,664 journals and 33,345 books, 16000 E-journals, 200000 E-books.
