PERSONAL INFORMATION
My current research activity focuses on theoretical study of various aspects of electron-molecule collision. This involves investigation of electron initiated processes (formation of metastable anions and their decay through elastic collisions, electronic and vibrational excitations, dissociative electron attachment, etc.) at molecular level by using ab-initio quantum mechanical methods of the R-matrix theory for electron scattering calculations and wave packet dynamics methods for nuclear motion. Such electron collision processes play important roles in several areas of practical interest which include radiation damage of living tissue, atmospheric and interstellar chemistry, plasma technologies, etc.. In past, I have also worked on the study of highly-excited and Rydberg molecular states until their ionization threshold and beyond using the R-matrix method and multi-channel quantum defect theory (MQDT). These methods are used to study several competing molecular processes such as, ionization, dissociation, spontaneous emissions, dissociative recombination, etc.
