About the Department

This department has the responsibility of doing the programmes and activities of Exposure Visit, AISHE, Odisha, NIOS, DEP, Library and other important programme of exigencies.

Library & Digitalisation
TE & SCERT has had its library since the beginning. But in 2023 the department has renovated its library with all up to-date facilities like almirah, racks, computers and human resources. Digital Platform E-Granthalaya a software developed by National Informatics Centre, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India for Government Libraries for Automation of In-house activities as well as member services and Networking for resource sharing.

On this platform, NIC provides a complete ICT solution with integrated Library Management Software, Digital Library Module, Cloud hosting environment and a Library portal (OPAC) with NICSI empaneled roll-out services and support. Very shortly Library automation system will be completed, and the library will be functional and accessible to all the stakeholders.

Exposure Visit
Exposure visits are invaluable educational experiences that offer participants firsthand insights into various institutes, organizations, or communities. These visits typically involve students, professionals, or individuals interested in learning about a specific field or area of interest. Through exposure visits, participants have the opportunity to observe real-world practices, interact with professionals, and gain practical knowledge that complements theoretical learning.
Exposure visits are organized so that people living in one place can visit another location to observe and learn from the other community’s development activities. SCERT plans for exposure visit for the Asst. Directors and Faculties of DIET, BIETs and ETETs.
AISHE-Odisha
The All-India Survey on Higher Education (AISHE) is a comprehensive initiative by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, aimed at collecting and analyzing data on various aspects of the higher education sector in the country. Launched in 2010, AISHE covers all higher educational institutions in India, encompassing universities, colleges, and standalone institutions. The survey gathers detailed information on key parameters such as student enrollment, faculty strength, infrastructure, financial resources, and academic programs. By providing a robust database, AISHE enables policymakers, researchers, and educational planners to assess the current state of higher education, identify trends, and make informed decisions to improve the quality and accessibility of higher education. The insights gained from AISHE are crucial for formulating policies, planning educational development, and ensuring the equitable growth of higher education.

To portray the status of higher education in the state, Ministry of education has endeavored to conduct an annual web based All India Survey of Higher Education (AISHE) since 2010-11.

TE and SCERT monitors up-to-date data of all Teacher Education Institute from DIET, BIET and ETEI through AISHE.
NIOS
National Institute of Open Schooling, formerly known as National Open School (NOS) was established in November 1989 as an autonomous organization in pursuance of National Policy on Education 1986 by the Ministry of Education (MOE), Govt. of India. NIOS provides a number of vocational, life enrichment and community-oriented courses besides general and academic courses at secondary and senior secondary level.

The history of SCERT, Odisha says of in-service teachers of elementary schools have completed the course through DIETs and BIETs.

DEP
Distance Education or distance learning is a field of education that focuses on pedagogy and andragogy, technology and instructional systems design that aims to deliver education to students who are not physically “on site”. SCERT has the provision for many of in-service teachers of elementary schools have completed D.El.Ed. course through DIETs, BIETs and ETEIs

Programmes and Activities

Exposure Visit of TEI Faculties to Bangalore, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan and Gujarat.

Four teams having 24 members in each team accompanied by Head master, teacher, CRCC, BEOs of conceren Prayogshala Schools as well as DIET have visited the good schools, DIETs, SCERT and other academic institutes of Karnataka, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan and Gujarat. The assistant directors from TE & SCERT, Odisha BBSR have proceeded as academic guide.

The faculties after getting back discussed with the other colleagues and Teacher as well as CRCCs along with Prayogshala School faculties. They have also done some innovative programmes in their institutes.

Up-dation of information in AISHE Portal of Government of India.

Our field level institutions like DIET, BIET and ETEIs upload all authentic data of their respective institutes. As the academic authority and head of the department, SCERT monitors the progress of updation by institutes and ensure it before the government.
