Dean’s Message

The Faculty of Engineering is the oldest Faculty of the C.V. Raman Global University (CGU-Odisha). It was Established in the Year 1997 in the name of C.V. Raman College of Engineering. Since inception, it was wedded to quality and remained committed to bringing about rapid transformations in the field of technical education by imparting high quality education and training through its highly experienced, well qualified & competent faculty, well-equipped smart classrooms, world class labs and unbeatable Centres of Excellence.

Here the students are exposed well to the latest technologies and cutting-edge skills through our thirty Centres of Excellence, Clubs and community of learners dedicated to addressing some of the world’s most complex engineering challenges ranging from sustainable technology and climate change to circular economic progress. By design our curriculum is embedded in the 21st century skills through experiential learning, exposure to cutting edge skills and multidisciplinary projects and research.
A large part of our success comes from our top-notch faculty. Our researchers turn the challenges of limited resources into an opportunity to develop affordable renewable energy technologies/systems to achieve sustainable growth and avoid catastrophic climate change. Our resourceful faculty members constantly strive to use industrial by-products to make Water treatment process, Robots for Sanitation, Vision based AI system for Plant Diseases prediction and pest control management, Automatic Driver Assistance System, Low-cost Cube Satellite for Agriculture monitoring, higher-performing bridges and roads, smart- Building, low-cost AR&VR learning Systems. They also address the increased demand for science and engineering graduates by developing personalized educational programs through blended mode of learning environment.
It is our pride to say that Faculty of Engineering, CGU-Odisha has been the first one to win the gold medal for India on water technology at WorldSkills-2019, Kazan, Russia. We have been among the top 100 NIRF raking institutions since 2016. Although this University is newly born, it takes pride in its rich heritage, aiming to improve the scholastic ability and effectiveness of the quality education system across the globe. The University is committed to expanding the scope of the existing departments and also to open new ones to deliver multi and inter-disciplinary courses by accelerating the present sectoral focus of its mother Institute.

Overview

C.V Raman Global University is an open platform for diverse voices where teaching runs parallel to the real world, and students are groomed to join the global workforce. CGU is distinguished as one of the top-ranked engineering Universities in India. The students at CGU benefit through the professional grooming of renowned faculty and industry experts with experience tackling pressing engineering problems. Students discover their passion in one of the various engineering majors at CGU. A student-centric pedagogy, project-based approach and design-driven curriculum provide students with an inclination for complex problem-solving, design, innovation, and a passion for learning. Through its various programmes, the School of Engineering and Technology aims to educate well-integrated individuals who possess technical and social competence to succeed in professional arenas and design solutions for global problems.

Objective
