HOD’s Message

Welcome to the department of physics at C.V. Raman Global University. Our department is committed to providing a comprehensive education in physics to prepare students for successful careers in academia and industry. We started our journey in the year 1997. We have strong postgraduate and Ph.D. Program in physics. At the undergraduate level, we offer physics courses to various branches of B.Tech. The sanctioned student strength of M.Sc. is 60 per year. The primary focus of our curriculum is to impart fundamental knowledge to students, promote their problem solving skills and help them innovate new technologies. The department offers a number of elective papers in the post graduate program for providing wide spectrum of options to the students to pursue their career. The course contents are periodically updated for introducing new scientific and technological developments. Undergraduate students are encouraged to undertake institutional elective subjects in their 3rd /4th semesters.

Our department strives to excel in both teaching and research. Faculty members have excellent academic credentials and are highly qualified. They have been awarded with prestigious awards at national and international level. Several faculty members serve on the editorial boards of national and international journals, review technical articles for journals on regular basis. Our department maintains active research groups for carrying out collaborative and interdisciplinary research. The department has received approximately 50 lakhs of funding for research activities from various funding agencies like CSIR and DST.

About Department

Superiority in teaching has been the trademark of our Department since its birth. The department of Physics started its journey since 1997, produces graduates in bachelor of technology on the purpose of gratifying the basic desires in the dynamic world class platform. In 2016, the department started Masters of Science (M.Sc.) in Physics course to produce brightest minds in applied Physics for active participation in development of human resource. Department focus not only on the core courses but also elective papers in the course of M.Sc. which includes Fibre optics and optoelectronics, Plasma Physics, Solar Photovoltaics, Materials science and technology as well as skill courses such as Python programming, artificial intelligence and data science etc. In 2018, the department started enrolment for the Ph.D. course in Physics. Apart from regular teaching, the department is actively involved in the field of experimental and theoretical research keeping close eyes on the recent quests. Research encompasses various emerging areas that include fabrication of various nano-structured materials, development of energy storage devices, sensors, structural materials for different industrial applications, study of quantum phenomena behind luminescence in conducting polymer and metal oxide composites along with the theoretical development in the area of optoelectronics.
