Commemoration of International Women’s Day at Paradip Port Authority.

Working Women Cell of Paradip Port Authority Commemorated International Women’s Day with a programme held at the Officers’ Club, centered on the theme “Give to Gain.”

Shri P. L. Haranadh, Chairman, PPA, graced the occasion and addressed the gathering. He stated that the Port has crossed 150 MMT cargo throughput in the current fiscal & acknowledged the significant contribution of women employees to this achievement. He emphasized the importance of quality education for young girls for societal upliftment and appreciated the active role of the Working Women Cell in addressing women-related issues.

Highlighting employee welfare, he stressed the importance of women’s health and encouraged participation in special cancer screening camps and the use of the Mobile Medical Unit. He reiterated PPA’s commitment to providing a supportive work environment with improved facilities and continued welfare initiatives for women employees.

Eminent speakers Dr. Anupama Behera, Associate Professor, General Medicine, AIIMS Bhubaneswar, delivered a talk on women’s health, while Dr. Suman Dash Bhattamishra, educationist from National Law University, spoke on Gender laws. Both were felicitated for their contributions.

Shri Krishna Bapi Raju G, Secretary, PPA, spoke on the cultural ethos of respect for women in Indian tradition and highlighted the importance of values such as respect, care, and responsibility in everyday life.

The programme was attended by Heads of Departments and senior officers of PPA, along with employees, members of the Working Women Cell, and members of the Paradip Ladies Club.

Smt. Shraddha Ojha, Chairperson, Working Women Cell, delivered the welcome address. The programme was compered by Smt. Shraddhanjali Routray, and the vote of thanks was proposed by Smt. Simashree Nayak.

The event highlighted the vital role of women in the growth of PPA and reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to an inclusive and progressive workplace.
