ESTABLISHMENT OF FIVE REGIONAL JUDICIAL ACADEMY:      

In pursuit of excellence in the judicial education and training in the year 2023, the Hon’ble Patron-in-chief and the Hon’ble Judicial Academy and Training Committee, High Court of Orissa vouched for effective and convenient training of Judicial Officers, Staff, and other stakeholders at their local places, as it would not be befitting to call them to Cuttack each time for training. Accordingly, the Hon’ble committee proposed to decentralize the Odisha Judicial Academy and to establish five Regional Judicial Academies. The Government of Odisha acceded to the proposal and agreed to establish five Regional Judicial Academies in Angul, Balasore, Ganjam (Berhampur), Koraput (Jeypore), and Sambalpur.

The Odisha Judicial Academy conducts training programs as per the training modules approved by the Hon’ble Patron-in-chief and the Hon’ble Odisha Judicial Academy and Training Committee. The OJA offers different training programs for various cadres of judicial officers, including early-career, mid-career, and advanced career training. It also conducts various workshops, seminars, conferences to provide maximum possible exposure to the judicial officers and conducts training programme for other state cadre officers. In line with the Odisha Judicial Academy, the Regional Judicial Academies also conduct training based on the approved training module of the OJA. Specifically, they focus on hands-on training programs, such as training on High Court of Orissa video conferencing rules, paperless court procedures, and vulnerable witness examination rules.
